Slack
Minerva acts as its Slack app, and reaches only the channels the app has been added to in Slack (/invite and the
app’s name). Within those, you choose per channel what agents may do. Minerva asks Slack for access to write only once
you allow replying or posting.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”| Permission | What agents can do |
|---|---|
| Read messages | List the channels they may read, and read a channel’s messages and threads. |
| Reply in threads | Reply in a thread. |
| Post to the channel | Post a new message. |
Risks to weigh
Section titled “Risks to weigh”- Posts are a way out. Everyone in the channel reads what agents post, including people who join later, and a post can contain anything the agent read.
- Messages are written by others. Anyone in a channel can write text meant to steer the agent. Be most careful where agents both read and may post.
- Slack workflows and other apps can react to a post. Minerva does not control them.
What agents cannot do
Section titled “What agents cannot do”Agents cannot search, react, edit or delete messages, or post to channels shared with other organizations. Text they
write is shown as written, so it cannot mention people or notify a channel (@channel, @here), and it may not link
to Slack. Direct messages are out of reach, and agents do not see file contents, link previews or messages shared from
other channels.
